All Our Mini Newsletters

You never thought of writing a newsletter.

Or maybe you did, and you didn’t know where to start. What should I write about? Will it be useful? Will I get subscribers? Will it make a difference for me?

Publishing is a generous act, where you’re not only generous to your audience, but you’re generous to yourself too.

A newsletter is a mini product. People subscribe because at this point in their journey, they’ve been hoping for progress on some dimension.

“I don’t want to be the one that doesn’t know about this. I shouldn’t be left out.”

“Unless I’m informed about this subject, things will go bad.”

“I’m getting ready for a change, and reading this publication will help me get there.”

And you write because you have something to say.

“Unless I write, I won’t get any attention.”

“Unless I write, I won’t have a place to put down my ideas.”

“If I write, I might get a flywheel of new ideas, and I’ll connect with new people.”

Your newsletter will start out small, but if you make sure you have empathy for both sides, your audience’s side and your own side, you might have a shot at making something beautiful that’ll catch on.

And you know what else is a mini newsletter, which you probably already have? Your social media profile is a mini newsletter. People subscribe because they have an internal push. And if you publish on there with that same newsletter mindset, you’ll publish better posts, for the people you want to serve.

Post away. Repost by thinking of your audience and why they subscribed. Make it original, make it you. Who knows who you’ll be helping. Even if it’s just for helping yourself for a while. More likely than not, you’ll be helping other people too.
