Unboxable
The “good guy” is underrated.
It used to be that for you the stereotypes of employee and founder seemed polar. Employees are nice and deferential, founders are savvy and bold. But you no longer fall in either.
It used to be that being considerate, curious and generous were your faults to bear. But now you know there’s a type of leader with those traits and more.
It used to be that people could put you into a box. But now you’ve found that people find you surprising, adept and adaptable.

Tomorrow you’re going to do something different than usual. A little random, even, for some. And it’s not going to cost you doubt or distress.
Next week you’ll launch a thing that might not work. But you’ll be celebrating being on the other side of the fear you used to feel.
This year you’ll have a few difficult conversations that will end up mattering. That will make you feel that you’ve done something deeply good.
Your old self would have never dreamed you’d be here.

It’s handy to start by finding the edges of the box you’ve been given. See what you’re made of. Discover where exactly that it starts getting scary. Maybe you found those edges, but not by choice. You’ve hit those hard edges too many times to count. That no longer matters to you.
Now, this box of yours, you see it as your launch pad.
The world needs a kind person, considerate, curious and generous, who is also savvy and bold, adept, adaptable, and a little random.
You will be confounding us all, to our benefit, each time you unbox.
